The main focus of the conference is on our preaching meetings that are held each day. We all meet together in the mornings and the evenings in the Great Hall to worship our God. Please pray for those who will preach and speak at Aber25.
Vaughan Roberts - Main speaker
Vaughan studied law at Cambridge University before a brief spell in South Africa where he was involved in student ministry. He subsequently trained for Anglican ministry at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, and since 1991 he has been on the staff of St Ebbe’s Church, Oxford, where he is now Rector. Vaughan has written a number of books, including God’s Big Picture, Battles Christians Face and True Friendship. In his spare time, Vaughan enjoys playing tennis and golf. Vaughan will be preaching on the Songs of Ascent (Psalms 120 – 134) under the title Homeward Bound. He will also deliver a Bible overview on Tuesday afternoon.
Alun Johnson
Alun has been co-pastor of Hope Church @ Bethel & Calvary, Cefn Hengoed & Penybryn since November 2023. Prior to that he was a primary school teacher for over sixteen years, teaching in Welsh-medium education. He is married to Lois and they have two children, Gwen and Tomos. In his spare time, Alun enjoys the great outdoors, especially mountain biking and hiking.
Jeremy Bailey
Jeremy chaired the conference for over ten years. He lives in Aberavon where he has pastored Bethlehem Evangelical Church since 2005. Having been richly blessed through the work of the Evangelical Movement of Wales in Camps and Conferences, he now feels privileged to serve as Chair of Trustees. He is married to Jenny and they have a married son and two grandchildren.
Steffan Jones
Steffan is the pastor of Mount Elim Evangelical Church in Pontardawe. He is married to Cath and they have two sons, Dewi and Mathew. He enjoys walking in the mountains and supporting the Scarlets. His great passion is seeing people of all ages know and love the Lord Jesus more.
James Muldoon
James is married to Jennie, and they have three children. They serve at Duke Street Church in Richmond, after many years at Carey Baptist Church in Reading. He and Jennie have co-written a book called Helping the Suffering about their experiences of the Lord’s help in difficult times. James loves cricket, the Fens and the films of Harold Lloyd.
Emyr James
Emyr is married to Catrin and they have three little girls - Ania, Elsi and Moli. He was raised in the church which he now pastors, the Welsh Evangelical Church in Cardiff. Emyr is a board member and trustee of the Evangelical Movement of Wales with responsibility for Welsh language ministries.
Graham Beynon
Graham is Head of Local Ministries for the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches. He provides support, training, and advice to churches and their leaders. He is also a visiting lecturer at Oak Hill College, London. He previously worked in pastoral ministry in Cambridge and Leicester and has particularly been involved in leading church plants. His PhD was on the 18th century hymn writer Isaac Watts. He is the author of over a dozen books. He is married to Charis, and they have three grown-up children.
Lewis Allen
Lewis has been married for thirty years to Sarah, a teacher and writer, and they’re blessed with five adult children. After twelve years pastoring Gunnersbury Baptist Church in London, in 2010 they moved to Huddersfield to plant Hope Church. Lewis’ other loves include historical theology (his doctorate is in 18th Century church history), running and fly fishing.

He will be taking the 8am to 9am prayer meetings from Tuesday to Friday

Ian Parry from Grangetown Baptist Church, Cardiff.
He will be leading prayer meetings at 9am from Tuesday to Friday
John Mann
John Mann from Little Mill Baptist Church, Pontypool.
He will be leading prayer meetings at 9am from Tuesday to Friday.
